(L.A.) Devon Metoyer, 40, Died at a Private Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 40-year-old White/Caucasian female that occurred at a private residence.

The coroner’s office identified the woman as Devon Metoyer.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death A: Pulmonary Thromboembolism

Cause of Death B: Deep Vein Thrombosis in Her Legs

Other Significant Conditions: Combined Effects of Fentanyl and Idiopathic Dilated Cardiomyopathy

RIP DEVON METOYER (August 1, 1984 – November 24, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 3:30 a.m.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

Several studies and case reports suggest a link between drug abuse, including fentanyl, and an increased risk of venous thromboembolism, which includes deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism.
