(L.A.) Derrick Fair, 53, Died in a Motel

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 53-year-old Black male that occurred in a motel.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Derrick Fair.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Hypertensive Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

Other Significant Conditions: Effects of Cocaine, History of Congestive Heart Failure and Diabetes Mellitus

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 9:10 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on November 6, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the drug. This is considered an accidental overdose.
