(L.A.) Deondre Brunston, 23, Died on a Porch

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 23-year-old Black male that occurred on a porch.

The coroner’s office identified the young man as Deondre Brunston.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Multiple Gunshot Wounds

RIP DEONDRE BRUNSTON (November 8, 1979 – August 24, 2003)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 10:26 p.m.

Initial notes by the coroner-investigator stated that the “decedent pretended to have gun and was shot by deputy. OIS.”

Later it was revealed that Brusntonw was hit by 22 bullets by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies, who had fired 81 rounds.

On August 24, 2003, 23-year-old Deondre Brunston was killed by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies William Zollo, Ronald Licata, Travis Morrow, Kamal Ahmad, Raymond Munoz, Gilbert Jurado (an associate of the Vikings deputy gang), John Perez, David Piquette, Richard Hoffman, and an unidentified deputy.

His aunt, Keishia Brunston, recounts that night 20 years later.
