RIP DEBORAH BASKIN (May 27, 1956 – April 3, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 11:54 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on May 7, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drug. This is considered an accidental overdose.

LAPD’s Southeast Division had responded at around 11:44 p.m. to South Broadway and West 111th Street.

Concerned citizens initially assumed the deceased was the victim of a vehicle-vs-pedestrian collision. The speculation later turned out to be unfounded.
