(L.A.) DeAndre Hall, 28, Died in a Landfill

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 28-year-old Black male that occurred at the Sunshine Canyon Landfill.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Deandre Hall.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Trauma

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday.

The decedent was apparently injured when a backhoe fell on the machine he was operating.

LAFD personnel were called to 14747 San Fernando Road at 9:25 a.m.

While the landfill is commonly associated with Granada Hills, the official address lists the city as Sylmar.
