(L.A.) David Skerritt, 40, Died in a Parking Lot

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 40-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred in a parking lot.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as David Skerritt.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl and Methamphetamine Effects

Other Significant Condition: Laennec Cirrhosis

RIP DAVID SKERRITT (October 7, 1983 – January 12, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 9:01 a.m.

The government investigator had initially posted this as a natural death in January.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner that this was an accidental overdose was published on February 14, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drugs.

Laënnec cirrhosis is primarily caused by excessive and chronic alcohol consumption.
