Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Multiple Blunt Force Traumatic Injuries

RIP DAVID JOHN SKAL (June 21, 1952 – January 1, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 8:46 p.m.

The decedent was a historian, critic, writer, and on-camera commentator known for his research and analysis of horror films, horror history and horror culture. He was apparently a passenger of a silver Honda traveling eastbound on Glenoaks Boulevard when the vehicle was crushed head-on by a black BMW that had jumped a median by Elm Avenue. The speeding Beemer was so out of control that it ended up rotating, and its back end was what hit the Honda.

The driver of the BMW, 23-year-old Glendale resident Karo Margarian, was arrested and booked for felony reckless driving. He has been released on $100,000 bail.
