(L.A.) David Contreras, 61, Died at a Convenience Store

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 61-year-old Latino male that occurred at a convenience store.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as David Contreras.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Combined Effects of Fentanyl and Ethanol

Other Significant Conditions: Morbid Obesity; Medical History of Bipolar Disorder, Schizoaffective Disorder, Depression, Polysubstance Abuse and Alcoholic Gastritis

RIP DAVID CONTRERAS (April 3, 1962 – January 2, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on August 8, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive from the lab.
