(L.A.) David Avila, 29, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 29-year-old Latino male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as David Avila.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Methamphetamine Toxicity

Other Significant Condition: Congestive Heart Failure

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 1:09 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on July 28, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the drug. This was an accidental overdose.
