(L.A.) David Appleton, 62, Died on a Sidewalk

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 62-year-old Black male that occurred on a sidewalk.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as David Appleton.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Methamphetamine

Other Significant Condition: Atherosclerotic and Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 4:15 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in mid-March, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
