(L.A.) Dana Dorton, 70, Died From Polysubstance Abuse

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 70-year-old Black male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Dana Dorton.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Combined Effects of Cocaine, Oxycodone, and Fentanyl

Other Significant Conditions: the Medical History Includes Hypertension, Type II Diabetes Mellitus, Septic Shock, and Poly-Substance Abuse

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 7:56 a.m.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
