(L.A.) Corina Monroy, 60, Killed by Heart Disease during Fight

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 60-year-old “Latin American” female that occurred in a parking lot.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Corina Monroy of Pasadena, California.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Coronary Artery Disease

Other Significant Condition: Multiple Abrasions and Bruises

RIP CORINA MONROY (April 3, 1962 – December 22, 2022)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 5:11 p.m.

The decedent died a few feet away from the van in which she lived at the 99 Cents store parking lot.

Officers had responded to a fight in the 400 block of North Los Robles Avenue in Pasadena at 4:39 p.m.

They found Corina Monroy with trauma to her head.

The motive for the apparent brawl was unclear.

Detectives arrested Carolina Hernandez, 40, at around 10 p.m.

The medical examiner ruled the death a homicide and not a natural death.
