(L.A.) Christopher McGrath, 47, Died From a Meth OD

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 47-year-old Latino male that occurred on a sidewalk.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Christopher McGrath.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Methamphetamine Intoxication

RIP CHRISTOPHER JAMES MCGRATH (November 20, 1976 – January 8, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 4:30 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on March 19, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

The government investigator had initially given the decedent’s name as David Powers.
