(L.A.) Chang Yin Wu, 68, Died in an Accident

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a female that occurred on a street.
The coroner’s office has identified the individual as Chang Yin Wu.
Manner of Death: Accident
Cause of Death: Blunt Traumatic Injuries
RIP CHANG YIN WU (August 28, 1954 – May 28, 2023)
Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 8:58 p.m.
The coroner-investigator says the decedent was “White/Caucasian” but the name appears to be Chinese. No date of birth has been given. UPDATE: By June 1st, the ME/C had changed the race to “Asian” and added a birthday.

A crash was reported at 8:45 p.m. Sunday on Garey Avenue north of Bonita Avenue in Pomona. Three people were trapped in the wreckage of an overturned SUV.
A man and a woman who were the driver and front-seat passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. Firefighters freed a woman believed to be in her 50s from a back seat and took her to a hospital in critical condition.
News video from the scene showed the wreckage of the overturned SUV in the street and a car on the sidewalk that had crashed into a tree.
Police said the driver suspected of causing the crash fled the scene. They did not say whether the suspect abandoned the car or was in a third vehicle.
An 18-year-old man who police believe triggered the violent hit-and-run crash in Pomona was arrested after he checked himself into a hospital in neighboring Montclair.
Erik Elias Perez of Pomona was later arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, grand theft auto and hit-and-run resulting in death.
It was not immediately known when Perez check himself into the Montclair hospital.
UPDATE: Chang Yin Wu was a passenger in the SUV driven by Ming Chih Tsao, 71, who was also killed.
