(L.A.) Carlos Ruiz Jr., 47, Died on a Sidewalk

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 47-year-old Latino male that occurred on a sidewalk.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Carlos Ruiz Jr.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Methamphetamine

Other Significant Condition: Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 11:26 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in mid-May, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
