(L.A.) Carlos King, 30, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 30-year-old Black male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Carlos King.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death A: Sepsis

Cause of Death B: Acute Hypoxic Respiratory Failure

Cause of Death C: Pneumonia

Cause of Death D: Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome

Other Significant Conditions: Methamphetamine Effects; History of Disseminated Cryptococcal Infection

RIP CARLOS KING (May 9, 1994 – September 6, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 12:25 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in early January. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

Cryptococcosis is an invasive fungal disease.

Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome is commonly known as AIDS.
