(L.A.) Brandon Mendoza, 31, Died on a Street

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 31-year-old male that occurred on a street.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Brandon Mendoza and listed his race/ethnicity as White/Caucasian.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt Trauma

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 4:18 p.m.

The decedent was one of three men killed in a multiple-vehicle collision in Azusa after two motorcyclists crashed into five vehicles.

According to the Azusa Police Department, whose officers had responded at around 4 p.m. to the intersection of Cerritos Avenue and Arrow Highway, two motorcyclists were traveling eastbound on Arrow Highway at high speeds before one motorcycle went airborn and hit a pedestrian, who was standing on a street corner.

The motorcyclist and pedestrian were pronounced dead at the scene. They were 31-year-old Brandon Mendoza and 22-year-old Marcos Loera.

The motorcycles collided with at least five vehicles at the intersection.

Responding paramedics of the L.A. County Fire Department took the second motorcyclist, who had also been tossed into the air by the accident, to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The medical examiner’s office identified him as 23-year-old Gabriel Abarca.
