Bashar Jackson, 20, Fatally Shot in Home Invasion

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 20-year-old Black male that occurred at a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the young man as Bashar Jackson. Born in Brooklyn, New York. Mother’s maiden name is Boothe.

RIP BASHAR BARAKAH JACKSON (July 20, 1999 – February 19, 2020)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 5:12 a.m. at Cedars-Sinai in West Hollywood. A left thoracotomy was performed at the hospital and noted.

The decedent was the rapper known as Pop Smoke. His father was Gregory Jackson of Panama and his mother Audrey M. Boothe of Jamaica.

He was shot at a residence in Hollywood Hills during a home invasion conducted by a 15-year-old, a 19-year-old, and another minor of unspecified age.
