(L.A.) Ascencion Nava Perez, 47, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 47-year-old Latino male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Ascencion Nava Perez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Methamphetamine

Other Significant Condition: Dilated Cardiomyopathy and Adenovirus Infection

RIP ASCENCION NAVA PEREZ (February 12, 1978 – February 19, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 6:13 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in mid-May, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
