(L.A.) Arnulfo Medina, 41, Died in a State Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 41-year-old Hispanic male that occurred in a state hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Arnulfo Medina.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Clozapine Toxicity

RIP ARNULFO MEDINA (November 2, 1981 – August 20, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 8:03 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on April 4, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drug.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

Clozapine is an antipsychotic medication for treatment-resistant schizophrenia.
