(L.A.) Argentina Garcia, 46, Died at a Transient Encampment

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 46-year-old Hispanic female that occurred at a transient encampment.

The coroner’s office identified the woman as Argentina Garcia.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl and Methamphetamine Toxicity

RIP ARGENTINA GARCIA (December 16, 1978 – March 24, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 5:47 p.m.

The decedent was found lifeless near the Atlantic Boulevard on-ramp to the westbound Pomona (60) Freeway.

Monterey Park Police Department has jurisdiction over this case.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on June 23, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
