(L.A.) Antonio Ruelas, 84, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of an 84-year-old Latino male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Antonio Ruelas.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Fentanyl, Heroin, Codeine, Morphine, and Methamphetamine

RIP ANTONIO RUELAS (February 16, 1941 – July 6, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on August 29, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, polydrug overdose.
