Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 47-year-old Hispanic male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Antonio Medina.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death A: Bleeding Esophageal Varices

Cause of Death B: Sequelae of Laennec Cirrhosis

Other Significant Condition: Cocaine Use

RIP ANTONIO MEDINA (August 7, 1958 – July 25, 2006)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 8:13 p.m.

Laënnec cirrhosis is primarily caused by excessive and chronic alcohol consumption.

This death is considered an accidental drug overdose.
