(L.A.) Anthony Ussery, 49, Died from a Gunshot

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 49-year-old White male whose body was found under the Culver Boulevard bridge in Playa del Rey.
The coroner’s office identified the man as Anthony Ussery.
Manner of Death: Homicide
Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of the Torso

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 12:42 p.m.
The decedent’s body was retrieved by lifeguards, fire personnel and a swift water rescue team from a “shed-like” structure beneath a bridge at the Ballona Creek flood control channel.
First responders had been dispatched to 13551 W. Culver Blvd. at around 10:40 a.m.
Culver Boulevard was temporarily closed in both directions between Jefferson and Lincoln boulevards to allow for the retrieval of the body.
