(L.A.) Alfred Owens, 74, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 74-year-old Black male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Alfred Owens.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Cocaine and Methamphetamine Toxicity

Other Significant Conditions: History of Congestive Heart Failure and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

RIP ALFRED OWENS (January 6, 1951 – July 21, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on October 18, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
