(L.A.) Alcides Palacios, 61, Died in Commerce

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 61-year-old Latino male that occurred at a business.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Alcides Palacios.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Multiple Crush Injuries

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 12:24 a.m.

The decedent was crushed underneath a concrete block at a work site in Commerce. He was employed as a construction worker at the site.

L.A. County Fire Department said the incident took place at around 12:08 a.m.

The employer was fined $30,000 by OSHA, a fine that the business is contesting.
