Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 39-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Adam Kappitz. Born in Fresno County.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Multiple Sharp-Force Injuries

RIP ADAM PAUL KAPPITZ (December 9, 1985 – July 23, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday.

The decedent was apparently a homeless veteran who was stabbed after an argument with another homeless veteran outside a Whole Foods store in Brentwood.
