(L.A.) Michael Saida, 64, Died on the 605 Freeway

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 64-year-old Asian male that occurred on on the Interstate 605 Freeway near South Street.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Michael Saida of Buena Park.

Born in L.A. County. Mother’s maiden name is Ike.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 9:24 a.m.

The decedent appeared to have been of Japanese descent.

He was killed in a multi-vehicle crash involving an armored truck on the southbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in the Cerritos area.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a white armored Loomis truck, two sedans, and a pickup truck were involved in an accident that was reported at around 8:45 a.m.

Loomis armored trucks are large secured vehicles which are typically used to transport money and other valuables.
