Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 51-year-old Caucasian female that occurred at a residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Catherine Manguso.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death A: Diabetic Ketoacidosis

Cause of Death B: Diabetes Mellitus

Other Significant Conditions: Pyelonephritis, Chronic Alcohol Effects, Cardiomyopathy

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 3:16 p.m.

Acute pyelonephritis is a bacterial infection causing inflammation of the kidneys and is one of the most common diseases of the kidney. Pyelonephritis occurs as a complication of an ascending urinary tract infection (UTI) which spreads from the bladder to the kidneys and their collecting systems.
