Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 33-year-old Black male that occurred in a jail.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Kevin Payne Jr. Born in L.A. County. Mother’s maiden name is Morgan.

RIP KEVIN PAYNE JR. (June 11, 1989 – April 9, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 5:21 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in early August, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the drug.
