(L.A.) Tony May, 59, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 59-year-old Black male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Tony May.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death A: Sequelae of Mesenteric and Small Bowel Ischemia

Cause of Death B: Aortoiliac and Mesenteric Chronic Thrombosis

Cause of Death C: Metastatic Prostate Cancer

Other Significant Conditions: Effects of Cocaine, History of Congestive Heart Failure and Hypertension

RIP TONY MAY (January 11, 1964 – January 12, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 4:13 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in mid-August, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the drug. This is considered an accidental overdose. If it were just the cancer, this would be classified as a natural death.
