Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 44-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred at a private residence.
The coroner’s office identified the man as Jack Cartagena.
Height: 5 feet 6 inches / Weight: 164 pounds
Manner of Death: Homicide
Cause of Death: Multiple Gunshot Wounds

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday.
The decedent was one of three adult men found dead on Tuesday, July 28, inside an apartment in the 1900 block of Wilcox Avenue in Hollywood. LAPD entered the unit at around 11:30 p.m. using a manager’s key after a family member requested a welfare check prompted by an unusual text message.

In the medical examiner’s parlance, “private residence” indicates it was not the decedent’s own home.
The decedent had just been picked up by LAPD at Hayworth Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard on June 19.
