(L.A.) Rafael Lopez, 61, Died on a Street

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 61-year-old Latino male that occurred on a street in the area of Huntington Park.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Rafael Lopez. (Note that there are multiple decedents named “Rafael Lopez” in public records.)

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Trauma

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday.

The decedent was a pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle at East Florence Avenue and Pacific Boulevard at around 9:43 p.m. The vehicle’s driver apparently fled the scene. Later, at around 10:19 p.m., police finally located the vehicle, behind a gate; it had a broken headlight.
