Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 35-year-old Latino male that occurred on a public street.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Alvaro Castillo Jr.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Multiple Blunt-Force Injuries

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday.

The decedent was known as Tito Castillo. He was with his daughter and his friend Sergio Hill in a car on their way to the airport when their Toyota Camry was broadsided by as a speeding BMW on Crenshaw Boulevard by 78th Street at around 10:45 a.m. The two men died.

Nearby surveillance footage from local businesses captured the BMW driver seemingly street-racing a Tesla moments before the fatal impact occurred.
