(L.A.) Elias Tapia, 41, Died in Antelope Valley

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 41-year-old Latino male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Elias Tapia. Born in Mexico.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Severe Blunt-Force Head Trauma

RIP ELIAS TAPIA (September 27, 1984 – May 20, 2026)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at a hospital.

The decedent had been found by 173rd Street and East Avenue T in Llano and was taken to Antelope Valley Medical Center in Lancaster.

He appeared to have been hit in the head with a blunt metal object at around 9:55 a.m. Detectives arrived on scene at around 11:00 a.m.

Note that there are multiple decedents named “Elias Tapia” in public records.
