Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 12-year-old Hispanic female who passed away at her residence.
The coroner’s office identified the girl as Dysis Machuca.

Cause of Death: Acute Fentanyl Toxicity

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday morning.
This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
The decedent was a student at Vista Charter Middle School. She was around eight years old when her father Freddy Machuca was shot dead during a fight.
