Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 12-year-old Black male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office identified the boy as Maurice Jr. Taylor.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Sharp-Force Injuries of the Torso and Neck

The child and his sister were murdered by their parents on November 29 and their bodies were found by authorities several days later.

A jury in 2025 concluded that Maurice Jewel Taylor Sr. and Natalie Sumiko Brothwell were guilty of two counts of first-degree murder.
