(L.A.) Jose Depaz, 37, Died on a Sidewalk

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 37-year-old Latino male that occurred on a sidewalk.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Jose Depaz.

Manner of Death: Suicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of Head

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday.

Note that there are multiple people named “Jose Depaz” who were born in California in 1992. The state has 40 million residents.

Since May 2025, the Department of Medical Examiner has refused to release birth dates, which had been used to distinguish between deceased individuals with the same name.
