Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 54-year-old male that occurred in the L.A. River.

The coroner’s office identified the man as David Mitchell and listed his race/ethnicity as Hispanic + Black.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Drowning

Other Significant Conditions: Methamphetamine Abuse and Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease
