(L.A.) Francesca Becker, 50, Died on SR-14

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 50-year-old Hispanic female that occurred on the Antelope Valley Freeway.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Francesca Becker of Palmdale.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Traumatic Injuries

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday night.

California Highway Patrol first heard about the incident at 9:26 p.m.

The decedent was inside a green 2013 Ford Fiesta that was involved in a multi-vehicle collision on the northbound side of SR-14.

She was traveling in the No. 1 lane and a blue 2004 Lexus Rx330 was directly behind her, being driven by a 21-year-old man from Palmdale.

The Fiesta began to slow down due to traffic and was rear-ended by the Lexus. The Fiesta was then propelled forward into the rear end of a black 2021 Hyundai Palisade being driven by a 55-year-old woman from Granada Hills.

Lanes reopened at around 2:20 a.m.

* Agua Dulce is an unincorporated community just northeast of Santa Clarita.

** Note that the government investigator had initially given the decedent’s surname as Becket.
