(L.A.) Melyssa Cardaropoli, 47, Died on a Highway

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 47-year-old female that occurred on a highway.

The coroner’s office identified the woman as Melyssa Cardaropoli of Rosamond. Born in L.A. County.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Injuries

RIP MELYSSA E CARDAROPOLI (November 23, 1977 – October 19, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday morning.

The decedent was fatally injured in a head-on traffic collision at the intersection of Sierra Highway and West Avenue East in Lancaster. She was driving a 2018 Hyundai and was heading northbound on Sierra.

California Highway Patrol’s Antelope Valley Area office first heard about the crash at 12:08 a.m. from the L.A. County Fire Department.

A 29-year-old man surnamed Gonzalez, who was driving a 1999 Chevrolet, was later arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter.
