(L.A.) Diego Mejia Hernandez, 53, Died in a Parked Vehicle

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 53-year-old Latino male that occurred in a parked vehicle.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Diego Mejia Hernandez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl and Ethanol Toxicity

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in December, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, substance overdose.
