Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 25-year-old Latino male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the young man as John Flores.

Cause of Death A: Multiorgan Failure

Cause of Death B: Hypoxic Encephalopathy

Cause of Death C: Cardiac Arrrest of Unclear Etiology

Cause of Death D: Complication of Percutaneous Lumbar Discectomy

Other Significant Condition: Chronic Back Pain

The decedent appears to have undergone a medical procedure that led to complications that contributed to his death.

Percutaneous lumbar discectomy is a procedure that removes part of a herniated disc that is irritating a nerve. It is generally considered a safe and minimally invasive surgical procedure.
