(L.A.) Joel Pagan, 38, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 38-year-old Latino male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Joel Pagan.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Fentanyl and Ethanol

RIP JOEL PAGAN (September 17, 1986 – August 17, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on October 8, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, substance overdose.
