RIP KENESHA JANICE MONTGOMERY-JOSHUA (January 7, 1977 – July 29, 2025)
Formal pronouncement of death was made early Tuesday morning.
Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on August 5. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
Multi-organ failure, initiated by rhabdomyolysis and acute kidney failure, was triggered by compartment syndrome of the leg. These were set in motion by severe drug intoxication, underlying substance abuse history, and psychiatric illness — all of which increased vulnerability to these life-threatening complications.
