(L.A.) Robert Radillo, 29, Died in South Gate

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 29-year-old Latino male that occurred at a place of business.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Robert Radillo. Born in L.A. County.

Height: 5 feet 11 inches / Weight: 185 pounds

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wounds

RIP ROBERT RADILLO (September 1, 1995 – June 24, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday.

The decedent was fatally shot inside a business located in a strip mall.

The business, marked by a store sign reading ‘Savage Mobile,’ seems to be an unlicensed marijuana dispensary.

LASD said homicide detectives from the South Gate Police Department responded at 11:10 p.m. to the 5800 block of Imperial Highway, west of Vulcan Street, following a report of a shooting.

Investigators said an employee opened fire inside the business after he claimed an armed man stormed in and attempted to commit a robbery. The armed employee was uninjured and taken to the South Gate Police Department to be questioned.

The sheriff’s department is assisting South Gate police with the investigation, looking into the actions of both parties and whether the shooting was an act of self-defense.
