(L.A.) Esteban Gonzalez, 15, Died on a Roadway

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 15-year-old Latino male that occurred on a roadway.

The coroner’s office has identified the teenager as Esteban Gonzalez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Traumatic Injuries

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday.

The decedent was fatally injured while a passenger in a single-vehicle crash on Hasley Canyon Road, east of Sloan Canyon Road, which happened the afternoon of June 9, Monday.

Authorities say the teen driver somehow left the roadway and crashed. He sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center. Two other passengers were taken by ambulance to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital.
