(L.A.) Landell Smith, 36, Died in a Park

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 36-year-old Black male that occurred in a park.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Landell Smith.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Fentanyl and Methamphetamine

RIP LANDELL SMITH (October 1, 1988 – April 20, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 8:48 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on June 15, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
