DETAILS:
A shooting has left at least one person dead and another possibly wounded Wednesday night, prompting Homicide detectives to respond.
LA County FD paramedics received the call for a shooting patient on Greenleaf Avenue just south of Mar Vista Street shortly after 10:15, only a block away from their fire station.
At least two ambulances were requested for two possible shooting patients.
At least one of the victims, who was located in a white Tesla, was injured beyond care and unfortunately pronounced deceased at the scene.
It is unclear if the second ambulance transported someone, though data on Pulsepoint seems to indicate that a second patient was transported from scene.
Family was quick to respond. Screaming could be heard in the background on FD radio chatter as more and more worried family members arrived on scene.
At around 11:45 PM, a third patient, possibly family, was transported from the scene after having a possible anxiety attack.
As of 1 AM, at least 20 to 30 family members have congregated on the corner of Walnut Street and Greenleaf Avenue.
The original shooting took place on Newlin Avenue just north of Walnut Street and south of Mar Vista.
There are indications that the Tesla was driving north on Newlin when the shooter fired from an apartment area along the west sidewalk of the street. After being struck by gunfire, the victims(s) continued east on Mar Vista and then south on Greenleaf before pulling over just shy of the fire station.
