Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 60-year-old Latino male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Joel Ayala.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Atherosclerotic and Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease

RIP JOEL AYALA (June 10, 1964 – December 18, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling in mid-March, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back negative for substances.

This was either a heart attack (myocardial infarction) or cardiac arrest.
